Dehradun: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttarakhand to implement wide-ranging Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives across the state beginning in fiscal year 2025–26. The collaboration aims to address key development areas, including education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and community development.
The MoU was formalized during a CSR Conclave held in Dehradun, in the presence of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar, senior government officials, and top TKM executives including Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Governance.
CSR to Benefit Over 3.7 Lakh People in Uttarakhand
The multi-year CSR roadmap under the MoU is projected to benefit more than 370,000 individuals across Uttarakhand. The initiative reflects a strategic public-private collaboration designed to accelerate inclusive growth and improve the overall quality of life for communities in the state.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami praised the partnership, calling it “a model of impactful collaboration between government and industry.” He acknowledged Toyota’s continued commitment to sustainable development and community upliftment.
Vikram Gulati of TKM stated, “Our partnership with the Government of Uttarakhand exemplifies Toyota’s values of community empowerment and long-term sustainability. Through these focused initiatives, we aim to build healthier and self-reliant communities.”

Education, Healthcare, and Sustainability at the Core
Under the CSR framework, TKM will take a multi-pronged approach:
- Education: Support for early childhood development through the enhancement of select Anganwadi centres, promoting child-to-community learning.
- Healthcare: Infrastructure upgrades at government healthcare facilities and hygiene awareness programs in schools to bolster preventive healthcare.
- Environmental Sustainability: Installation of solar power systems at livelihood centres and exploration of solar energy use at Anganwadi and healthcare centres—aligned with Toyota’s carbon neutrality goals.
Toyota’s Long-Term Commitment to Social Impact
Since 2001, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has been actively involved in social impact programs across India, focusing on areas such as education, road safety, environment, skill development, health, and disaster relief.
The company operates two manufacturing facilities in Bidadi, Karnataka, with a combined production capacity of 342,000 vehicles annually. TKM manufactures a range of vehicles including the Innova HyCross, Fortuner, Camry Hybrid, Hilux, and Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
A joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation (89%) and Kirloskar Systems Limited (11%), TKM employs around 6,000 people and operates over 432 acres of integrated facilities.
