Leadership Updates: PESB Recommends Nitin Khamesra as Director (Finance) of Shipping Corporation of India Limited

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has announced the recommendation of Mr. Nitin Khamesra for the prestigious position of Director (Finance) at Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI), a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. The selection was made during a high-level interview process conducted on October 22, 2025, at the PESB office in New Delhi.

Competitive Selection Among 11 Senior Executives

The selection process witnessed an intense competition among 11 senior finance professionals representing several major Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) across India. Candidates were evaluated on their leadership qualities, financial acumen, strategic planning capabilities, and experience in managing large-scale financial operations.

  • Manoharan Potheri, Chief General Manager (Finance), Indian Oil Corporation Limited
  • Nitin Khamesra, Chief General Manager (Shipping), Indian Oil Corporation Limited
  • Vivek Vinodkumar Maheshwari, Chief General Manager (Finance), Internal Audit, BPCL, Mumbai
  • Achint Kapur, General Manager (Finance), Indian Oil Corporation Limited
  • Kamal Nath Thakur, Additional General Manager (Internal Audit), NTPC Limited

Following a detailed evaluation of the candidates’ professional backgrounds, the PESB unanimously recommended Mr. Nitin Khamesra for the post.

About Nitin Khamesra

Mr. Khamesra is currently serving as Chief General Manager (Shipping) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), one of India’s largest integrated energy companies. With extensive experience in financial management, project evaluation, and strategic decision-making, Mr. Khamesra has played a key role in strengthening IOCL’s maritime and logistics operations. His expertise in handling complex financial portfolios and his deep understanding of the shipping and energy sectors are expected to greatly benefit SCI in its future growth trajectory.

Significance of the Appointment

The role of Director (Finance) at SCI is pivotal, overseeing the company’s overall financial strategies, budgetary planning, corporate governance, and investment decisions. Mr. Khamesra’s appointment is expected to provide strategic direction to SCI’s financial operations as it continues its modernization and expansion programs, particularly in the context of India’s growing maritime ambitions and the government’s “Maritime India Vision 2030.”
