Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued strict directives to ensure the speedy, high-quality, and accountable execution of all ongoing development projects in Gorakhpur. Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Annexe Bhawan, the Chief Minister emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards negligence, warning that any lapse in quality or delay in execution would lead to strict action against contractors and accountability being fixed on concerned officers.

Nodal Officers Appointed for Project Monitoring

The Chief Minister instructed the appointment of nodal officers for each project to monitor progress closely. The District Magistrate has been tasked with obtaining continuous updates from these officers to ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

Key projects under review included:

  • PAC Mahila Battalion
  • Khajanchi Bazar
  • Padri Bazar
  • Bargadwa
  • Gorakhnath
  • Paidleganj–Nausad Flyover
  • Bhopa Bazar Overbridge

Adityanath asserted that these works are vital to sustaining the positive image of Gorakhpur on the national map and must progress without obstruction.

Focus on Health, Vigilance Against Medical Malpractices

Reviewing the health sector, the CM recalled the state’s success in controlling Japanese Encephalitis (JE) and Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES)—once a major health crisis in Purvanchal. He urged officials to maintain constant vigilance, especially during seasonal disease outbreaks such as dengue.

He also reiterated his government’s crackdown on the medical mafia, calling for firm action against the ambulance mafia and middlemen in hospitals. He stressed the need to ensure transparent and fair healthcare services for all citizens.

Traffic Management and Urban Order

Highlighting Gorakhpur’s evolving status as a smart city contender, Adityanath directed traffic police and the municipal corporation to improve urban traffic flow, eliminate unauthorised stalls and encroachments, and ensure the rehabilitation of street vendors through proper planning.

Education Reforms and Infrastructure Quality

The CM also reviewed progress in the education sector, focusing on council schools, pre-school (Bal Vatika) programs, and Project Alankar in secondary schools. He instructed officials to:

  • Ensure that uniforms, shoes, and bags funded by the government reach students and are properly used.
  • Promote discipline through school uniforms.
  • Involve public representatives to support school programs.
  • Maintain strict quality standards in education-related infrastructure projects.

Green Mandate in Development

Adityanath emphasized eco-conscious development, directing that compensatory tree plantations be undertaken wherever trees are felled. These should be protected using tree guards, ensuring sustainable urban development.

With these directives, CM Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed his government’s commitment to efficient governance, civic infrastructure, health reforms, and education quality—positioning Gorakhpur as a model city not only in Uttar Pradesh but across India. His strong stance on accountability, quality control, and citizen-centric governance underlines a development approach rooted in both efficiency and inclusivity.
