Lucknow/Hardoi: In a major step towards sustainable industrial development, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is moving ahead with the development of the proposed PM MITRA (Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) Park, which is estimated to cost ₹1,680 crore. The park, to be developed across 100 acres in Lucknow and Hardoi districts, aims to become a model of industrial progress that balances economic growth with environmental conservation.
Green and Balanced Layout to Drive Sustainable Growth
As per the draft layout plan, the PM Mitra Park has been carefully designed to ensure ecological sustainability. The land use distribution includes:
- 55% for industrial units
- 11% dedicated to green spaces and fruit plantations
- 13% for road infrastructure
- 4% for utilities and amenities
- 4% for institutional use
- 3% for residential zones
- 2% each for transport hubs and drainage/water reservoirs
- 0.5% for recreational spaces
- 0.1% for strengthening existing roads
The 11% green cover will include green belts, buffer zones, and plantation areas to reduce pollution and preserve local biodiversity—setting an example of an environmentally conscious industrial zone.
Investment, Employment & Eco-Friendly Features
The PM Mitra Park is expected to attract investments worth ₹10,000 crore and generate over 1 lakh employment opportunities. In line with the “Vikas ke Saath Paryavaran” (Development with Environment) policy, the park will integrate:
- Eco-friendly construction materials
- Energy-efficient design
- Rainwater harvesting
- Solar power infrastructure
- E-waste management systems
These elements reflect the UP Government’s commitment to ensuring no compromise on green cover or ecological balance in any industrial development project.
UP Emerging as India’s Growth Engine and Green State Model
This initiative marks a key milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s journey to becoming both “India’s Growth Engine” and a “Green State Model.” The park is designed not just to boost the textile sector but also to serve as a benchmark for eco-industrial development in India. The focus on sustainability, infrastructure, and employment makes the PM Mitra Park a flagship project for future-ready industrial ecosystems.
