Lucknow: A day after transferring 24 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath-led state government has once again carried out a reshuffle in the police administration. On Friday evening, the government issued a transfer list involving five senior IPS officers, all holding the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG).
Out of the five officers transferred, four were awaiting postings after their recent promotions, and the latest order has now assigned them key responsibilities across important police units in the state.
List of IPS Officers Transferred and Their New Postings
According to the official order:
Akhilesh Kumar Chaurasia, DIG, Anti-Corruption Organization (ACO), Lucknow, has been posted as DIG Establishment at the Director General of Police (DGP) Headquarters.
Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan, who was serving as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in the Special Task Force (STF), has been promoted and appointed as DIG, STF.
Yamuna Prasad, earlier posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate, has been appointed DIG, Moradabad Police Training School (PTS).
Hemraj Meena, who was posted at Police Headquarters, has been appointed DIG, Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences (UPSIFS), Lucknow.
Sachindra Patel, earlier posted in the 44th Battalion PAC, Meerut, has been appointed DIG, Anti-Corruption Organization, Lucknow.
With this, all five DIG-rank officers have received fresh postings.

Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan Appointed DIG STF
Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan, a 2012 batch IPS officer, has been elevated from SSP to DIG and entrusted with the charge of the Special Task Force (STF). He has previously served as SSP Bareilly, where he handled sensitive law-and-order issues, including arrangements related to the Kanwar Yatra.
Yamuna Prasad Shifted from Noida to Moradabad PTS
Yamuna Prasad, also a 2012 batch IPS officer and a resident of Barhni near the Nepal border in Siddharthnagar district, has been transferred from the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate to Moradabad PTS as DIG.
During his tenure as DCP in Noida, Yamuna Prasad made headlines when his Lucknow residence was burgled, with thieves stealing cash, silver utensils, gift items, and even bathroom taps.
Hemraj Meena Given Charge of UPSIFS
Hemraj Meena, a 2012 batch IPS officer and a native of Rajasthan, has been appointed DIG of UPSIFS, Lucknow. He holds a Master’s degree in Hindi Literature and has earlier served as SSP Moradabad. He received his posting after promotion while awaiting assignment at Police Headquarters.
Sachindra Patel Appointed DIG Anti-Corruption Organization
Sachindra Patel, another 2012 batch IPS officer and a resident of Jaunpur, has been appointed DIG in the Anti-Corruption Organization, Lucknow. He holds a B.Tech degree in Information Technology and has served as SP Kushinagar. He has also worked with the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Lucknow.
Akhilesh Kumar Chaurasia Made DIG Establishment
Akhilesh Kumar Chaurasia, a 2009 batch IPS officer, has been posted as DIG Establishment at Police Headquarters. An engineer by qualification, he has previously served in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from 2019 to 2021 and is a recipient of the DGP Medal.
His personal life had earlier come under public scrutiny in 2020 when his wife, Sphoorti Mishra, an officer in the Customs Department, accused him of having relationships with several women. She had submitted complaints to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and the then Chief Secretary R.K. Tiwari.
Earlier: 24 IPS Officers Transferred, 11 District Police Chiefs Changed
Two days earlier, on the night of February 4, the Uttar Pradesh government transferred 24 IPS officers, including six district police chiefs who were promoted to DIG rank. The reshuffle resulted in changes in SP and SSP postings across 11 districts.
Key Highlights of the Earlier Reshuffle
Dr. Kaustubh, a former eye surgeon with seven years of medical practice, was appointed the new SSP of Gorakhpur.
Charu Nigam, a dynamic IPS officer, received a field posting after two years and was appointed SP of Sultanpur. She had earlier clashed with the District Magistrate while posted as SP Auraiya in 2024, following which she was transferred to Lucknow.
Anukriti Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police, who exposed an insurance scam worth over ₹100 crore in Sambhal, was transferred to Gautam Buddh Nagar and appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police.
Administrative Focus on Law and Order
The back-to-back transfers indicate the state government’s continued focus on administrative efficiency, law and order, and strengthening key police institutions across Uttar Pradesh. With multiple senior officers receiving postings after promotion, the reshuffle is expected to streamline leadership roles and improve operational coordination.
