Lucknow: The New Year has brought a major administrative shake-up in Uttar Pradesh, with the Yogi Adityanath government announcing new postings for 21 senior IAS officers following their promotions. The reshuffle, carried out late Thursday night, involves appointments and transfers at the levels of Secretary, Special Secretary, Director, and other key positions, impacting several crucial departments of the state administration.

The large-scale reshuffle aims to strengthen governance, improve administrative efficiency, and enhance inter-departmental coordination, officials said. The order was issued by Principal Secretary M. Devraj, directing all officers to assume charge of their new responsibilities with immediate effect.

The reshuffle has led to changes in leadership across some of the most important departments of the state, including:

Notably, eight women IAS officers are part of this reshuffle, underlining their growing role in senior administrative positions in Uttar Pradesh.

Promotions from Special Secretary to Secretary Level

Several officers have been promoted from Special Secretary to Secretary rank, reflecting the government’s focus on empowering experienced officers with greater responsibilities. The restructuring is expected to accelerate decision-making and improve service delivery across departments.
