Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Transfers ₹900 Crore to 90,000 PMAY-U Beneficiaries, Boosting Affordable Housing

First installment under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 reaches beneficiaries via Direct Benefit Transfer, enabling construction of pucca homes for economically weaker families

Lucknow: Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, Uttar Pradesh has provided a major boost to housing for economically weaker families. Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister, on Monday transferred the first installment of ₹900 crore directly to the bank accounts of 90,000 beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) at a state-level program held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.

The initiative aims to financially assist families in constructing pucca homes, fulfilling their dream of owning a secure and dignified house. The program was also broadcast live in Gautam Buddh Nagar district.

State-Level Event Highlights

  • MLA Dhirendra Singh, representing Jewar Assembly, was the chief guest.
  • During the ceremony, 220 selected beneficiaries from the district received approval letters and ₹1 lakh each as the first installment.
  • Officials emphasized that funds are being disbursed in a timely and transparent manner, ensuring construction adheres to prescribed standards.

District-Wise Beneficiary Distribution

As per project officer Ved Prakash Pandey:

  • Jewar: 115 beneficiaries
  • Rabupura: 58 beneficiaries
  • Bilaspur: 18 beneficiaries
  • Dankaur: 15 beneficiaries
  • Jahangirpur: 14 beneficiaries

Officials present included Chief Development Officer Dr. Shivakant Dwivedi, In-Charge Municipal Magistrate Arvind Mishra, City Mission Manager Sheela Kumari, and other key department representatives.

Government’s Commitment to Housing for All

MLA Dhirendra Singh said the PMAY-U is a vital welfare initiative to provide safe and permanent housing to the needy. He appreciated the combined efforts of the central and state government to ensure benefits reach the last citizen in society.

CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized that owning a house is a top priority for every individual and the government is committed to helping citizens realize this dream through efficient execution of housing schemes.

Transparent and Timely Fund Transfers

The Uttar Pradesh government has ensured:

  • Funds are transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts via DBT
  • Construction follows safety and quality standards
  • Program reaches every eligible beneficiary in a transparent, efficient, and timely manner

With this initiative, the state strengthens its focus on housing for all and urban development, ensuring socio-economic upliftment for weaker sections.
