Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has issued fresh transfer orders for 12 Indian Police Service officers, mainly from the 2019 to 2022 batches, in a new administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening district policing, commissionerate administration and law-and-order management across the state.
The transfers largely involve officers serving as Additional Superintendents of Police, Assistant Commissioners of Police and Deputy Superintendents of Police, with several young officers receiving important field assignments in major urban centres as well as sensitive districts.
Officials indicate that the reshuffle is part of the state’s continuing effort to improve operational efficiency, deploy officers in varied assignments and strengthen policing in both urban and rural regions.
Sagar Jain Posted to Prayagraj Commissionerate
Among the notable transfers, Sagar Jain (IPS 2019) has been moved from Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural), Saharanpur to Police Deputy Commissioner in Prayagraj Police Commissionerate.
This posting places him in one of the state’s important urban policing systems where law-and-order management requires continuous coordination across multiple policing units.
Manoj Kumar Rawat Shifted to Sambhal
Manoj Kumar Rawat (IPS 2020) has been transferred from Additional Superintendent of Police (Eastern), Gonda to Additional Superintendent of Police (Southern), Sambhal.
The posting is considered significant because Sambhal remains an administratively sensitive district from a law-and-order perspective.
Ayush Vikram Singh Moved from Meerut to Bahraich
Ayush Vikram Singh (IPS 2020), who was serving as Additional Superintendent of Police (City), Meerut, has been posted as Additional Superintendent of Police (City), Bahraich.
The transfer keeps him in a city policing role while moving him to an important eastern UP district.
2022 Batch Officers Receive Key Responsibilities
Several 2022-batch officers have been given upgraded responsibilities, reflecting rapid field-level deployment of young IPS officers.
Key postings include:
- Vinayak Gopal Bhosale moved from Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sitapur to Additional Superintendent of Police (City), Meerut

- Twinkle Jain transferred from Assistant Police Commissioner, Noida Commissionerate to Additional Police Deputy Commissioner, Lucknow Commissionerate

These postings strengthen commissionerate policing in major cities.
Officers Posted to Naxal-Affected Districts
The reshuffle also includes strategic postings to Naxal-sensitive districts.
- Rajkumar Meena has been transferred from Assistant Police Commissioner, Prayagraj Commissionerate to Additional Superintendent of Police (Naxal), Mirzapur
- Rishabh Runwal has been moved from Assistant Police Commissioner, Lucknow Commissionerate to Additional Superintendent of Police (Naxal), Sonbhadra
These appointments indicate a focus on strengthening security administration in vulnerable regions.
More District-Level Transfers
Additional transfers include:
- Alok Kumar moved from Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sambhal to Additional Superintendent of Police (City East), Pratapgarh
- Dr. Ishan Soni shifted from Assistant Police Commissioner, Varanasi Commissionerate to Additional Superintendent of Police, Jalaun
- Mayank Pathak transferred from Deputy Superintendent of Police, Aligarh to Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural), Saharanpur

Commissionerates and Districts Both Covered
The reshuffle affects both:
- Police commissionerates
- District police units
- Rural policing sectors
- Urban law-and-order formations
Officials say this helps expose officers to varied field conditions and operational demands.
Mid-Level Reshuffle Follows Earlier Senior Transfers
The current transfer round follows earlier large-scale movements involving senior SP and SSP rank officers in Uttar Pradesh this year.
The present reshuffle focuses on mid-level IPS officers considered critical for field execution and supervision.
