The event is scheduled for October 1, 2025, from 12 noon to 1 pm and will be broadcast on DD News’ YouTube channel.

Dr. Ajay Kumar’s live interaction aims to bridge the communication gap between UPSC and its candidates. This unique forum will allow aspirants to ask questions, seek clarifications, and gain insights into the examination process, reforms, and innovations shaping India’s premier recruitment body.
In a LinkedIn post, Dr. Kumar expressed enthusiasm about hosting the event, saying, “I am excited to host the first-ever UPSC Virtual Town Hall. Candidates from across the country can connect with me live on DD News YouTube on October 1, 2025, from 12 noon to 1 pm.”
How Candidates Can Participate: Submit Your Questions by September 30
To ensure broad participation, UPSC has invited questions from candidates and stakeholders via email. Interested candidates can submit their questions in text or video format to [email protected]
until 10 am on September 30, 2025.
During the live session on October 1, viewers can also pose real-time questions on social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram using the hashtag #AskChairmanUPSC.

Meet the Chairman: Dr. Ajay Kumar
Dr. Ajay Kumar is a 1985-batch IAS officer from the Kerala cadre. He served as India’s Defence Secretary from August 2019 to October 2022, where he spearheaded multiple landmark reforms, such as establishing the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), launching the Agneepath scheme, promoting the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ defense initiative, and corporatizing ordnance factories.
