UPSC CSE – 2023: Cadre Allotment Announced for IAS Officers, Topper Aditya Srivastava Gets Home Cadre

The DoPT, under the Central Government, has officially announced the cadre allocation for the IAS Officers selected through the UPSC Civil Services Examination - 2023.

UPSC CSE-2023 topper Aditya Srivastava has been allotted his home cadre, Uttar Pradesh. He will be posted in UP after completing his first-phase training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), under the Central Government, has officially announced the cadre allocation for the succesful aspirants (IAS Officers) selected through the UPSC Civil Services Examination – 2023. The list outlines the state cadres assigned to the newly selected IAS officers, and the respective state governments will now proceed with their postings.

Mr Srivastava, an IAS officer of the 2021 batch and a native of Lucknow, UP, has been allotted his home state cadre. Similarly, the second-ranked candidate, Animesh Pradhan, has been assigned the Odisha cadre, while the third-ranked Donuru Ananya Reddy from Telangana has been allotted the Maharashtra cadre.

In total, 180 IAS officers from the 2023 batch have received their cadre allocations. The full cadre allocation of the top 20 candidates from the exam is as follows:

The final result of the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023 was declared on April 16, 2024, with 1016 candidates recommended for 1143 vacancies across various civil services. Additionally, a reserve list, containing 120 extra candidates, was released on October 25, 2024.

This allocation of cadres marks a significant step for these young civil servants, who will soon begin their service in various administrative roles across the country.
