Imphal: Six candidates from Manipur have successfully cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, the results of which were declared on Friday. Their achievement has brought pride to the state and highlighted the growing presence of Manipur’s youth in India’s most prestigious competitive examination.
Among the successful candidates, Calvin Ginminlien Zou secured the highest rank from the state with All India Rank (AIR) 134.
Six Successful Candidates from Manipur
Along with Calvin Ginminlien Zou, five other candidates from Manipur also featured in the final selection list of the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025.
The candidates from the state who cleared the exam are:
• Calvin Ginminlien Zou — AIR 134
• Wahengbam Renudhar Singh — AIR 652
• Th. Vapani John — AIR 800
• Rahul Moirangthem — AIR 824
• Liangousang Vualnam — AIR 868
• Ningthoujam Rishikant Singh — AIR 903
The successful candidates represent various communities in the state, including Meitei, Kuki-Zo, and Naga, reflecting Manipur’s diverse social fabric.
Chief Minister Congratulates the Successful Candidates
Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh congratulated the successful aspirants and described their achievement as a proud moment for the state.
In a message shared on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said that the success of these six candidates highlights the talent, dedication, and determination of Manipur’s youth. He wished them success in their future roles in public service and expressed hope that they would contribute meaningfully to the country’s development.
“Just learnt that six bright candidates from Manipur have successfully qualified in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025. Heartiest congratulations to all of them for this remarkable achievement. Wishing you all the very best as you begin your journey in public service and contribute to the nation,” he wrote.
One of the Toughest Exams in India
The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Examination every year to recruit officers for some of the most prestigious administrative services in India.
Candidates who clear the exam are selected for key services such as:
• Indian Administrative Service (IAS)
• Indian Police Service (IPS)
• Indian Foreign Service (IFS)
• Various Central Services under Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’
The examination is widely regarded as one of the most competitive and challenging examinations in the country, attracting lakhs of aspirants every year.
