New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026 notification, announcing 933 vacancies for top administrative positions including IAS, IPS, IFS, and other central services. The online application window opens from February 4 to February 24, 2026, up to 6:00 PM.
Important Dates
The UPSC 2026 examination schedule has been announced as follows –
- Notification release: February 4, 2026
- Start of online application: February 4, 2026
- Last date to submit application: February 24, 2026 (6:00 PM)
- Preliminary Examination: May 24, 2026
- Main Examination: August 21, 2026
- Cut-off date for age eligibility: August 1, 2026

Vacancy Details
UPSC has announced 933 vacancies for the 2026 CSE and IFS examinations. Of these –
- 33 posts are reserved for PwBD candidates:
- Blindness and low vision: 7
- Deaf and hard of hearing: 11
- Locomotor disability (including cerebral palsy, leprosy-cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and muscular dystrophy): 8
- Multiple disabilities (excluding blind and deaf combination): 7
The final number of vacancies may vary based on inputs from Cadre Controlling Authorities. Government reservations will also apply for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwBD candidates.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following criteria –
- Educational Qualification: A graduate degree from a recognized university
- Age Limit: 21 to 32 years (as on August 1, 2026)
- Age Relaxation: Applicable as per government norms
- Application Fee Waiver: For PH and PwBD candidates

- Log in using registration number and password
- Enter photo ID details, upload scanned signature, photograph, and ID proof
- Submit the application along with the fee
Admit Card Details
- E-Admit Cards will be available on the last working day of the week before the exam
- Candidates requesting a change in scribe will receive admit cards three days before the exam, provided the request is made seven days in advance
- Admit cards will be issued only on the official UPSC website
