New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the timetable for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Mains Examination 2025. According to the notification, the exam will be conducted over eight days from November 16 to November 23, 2025, across various exam centres nationwide.

Exam Format and Timing

The IFS Mains 2025 will be conducted in two sessions daily:

  • Morning Session: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
  • Afternoon Session: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Each paper will have a duration of three hours, and the detailed subject-wise schedule has been made available in PDF format on the official UPSC website: upsc.gov.in

IFS Mains Exam Schedule

Who Can Appear?

Only those candidates who have successfully cleared the UPSC IFS Prelims 2025 are eligible to appear for the Mains examination. The Mains stage is critical in the selection process for one of the country’s most prestigious services—the Indian Forest Service.

What the IFS Mains Exam Covers

The IFS Mains tests candidates on:

  • General English
  • General Knowledge
  • Two Optional Subjects related to:
  • Forestry
  • Agriculture
  • Engineering
  • Animal Husbandry
  • Other allied sciences

This stage is designed to assess the candidate’s academic expertise, analytical ability, and grasp over their chosen subjects.

Candidates who qualify the Mains will proceed to the final round: the Personality Test (Interview).

UPSC IFS Mains 2025 Exam Dates

The exam will be held on the following dates:

  • November 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23, 2025
