Senior IPS officer Mukul Goel will soon take charge as the head of Police in Uttar Pradesh. The appointment of 1987 batch officer as the new DGP of the most populous state has been confirmed by the Home department.
Goel is presently on central deputation and serving as the Additional DG (operations) With the Border Security Force (BSF). He will be will succeeding H.C. Awasthi as the UP DGP, who retired on Wednesday.
The officer is a B.Tech in electrical engineering from Delhi IIT, and also an MBA. He also has a vast experience of serving in the UP Police in various capacities.
