Lucknow: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has transferred two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and six Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers. The changes affect key departments at the state level as well as important district-level administrative positions, including Sub-District Magistrates (SDMs), Additional District Magistrates (Judicial), and City Magistrates.
The reshuffle, announced late Tuesday night, reflects a strategic administrative reorganization aimed at strengthening governance and enhancing efficiency across departments.
Key Changes at Principal Secretary Level
The reshuffle includes important changes in the Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Department and the Panchayati Raj Department.
V. Hekali Zhimomi Appointed Principal Secretary (Forest, Environment & Climate Change)
Senior IAS officer Zhimomi (1996 batch) has been appointed as Principal Secretary of the Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier on Tuesday, the state government reassigned the department’s leadership, giving Jhimomi a significant responsibility in overseeing environmental governance, forest management, and climate-related policies in the state.
Her appointment is being viewed as an important administrative move considering the increasing focus on environmental conservation and climate resilience initiatives.
Anil Kumar-III Relieved of Forest Department Charge
Senior IAS officer Anil Kumar-III has been relieved from the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Department.
However, he will continue to serve as Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department, retaining a key role in rural governance and local self-government administration in the state.
Transfers of PCS Officers Across Key Districts
Alongside IAS-level changes, six PCS officers have been reassigned to new postings in various districts. The transfers mainly involve positions such as Sub-District Magistrate (SDM), Additional District Magistrate (Judicial), City Magistrate, and development authority roles.
According to Principal Secretary, Personnel and Appointments, M. Devraj, the reshuffle is aimed at administrative efficiency and effective governance delivery.
Rajesh Chandra Transferred to Mainpuri
PCS officer Rajesh Chandra, who was serving as Sub-District Magistrate (SDM) in Ghazipur, has been transferred and appointed as Additional District Magistrate (Judicial) in Mainpuri.
Vikas Yadav Posted as SDM, Ambedkar Nagar
PCS officer Vikas Yadav, previously associated with the Revenue Council, has been appointed as Sub-District Magistrate (SDM) in Ambedkar Nagar.
Brijpal Singh Assigned to Lakhimpur Kheri
PCS officer Brijpal Singh, who was serving as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Deoria, has been transferred as Additional District Magistrate (Judicial) in Lakhimpur Kheri.
Rajesh Kumar Mishra Given Charge at Ayodhya Development Authority
PCS officer Rajesh Kumar Mishra, formerly City Magistrate in Ayodhya, has now been appointed as Secretary of the Ayodhya Development Authority, a key body responsible for urban planning and infrastructure development in the temple town.
Sanjeev Kumar Upadhyay Posted as City Magistrate, Ayodhya
PCS officer Sanjeev Kumar Upadhyay, who was serving as Special Officer in the Prayagraj Development Authority in Prayagraj, has been transferred as City Magistrate, Ayodhya.
