Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Highlights ₹3.50 Lakh Crore Central Government Development Projects

42 Major Projects Across Roads, Railways, Energy, and Tourism Boost State Growth; 97% Issues Resolved Through Pragati Portal

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the Central Government is implementing 42 major development projects worth ₹3.50 lakh crore in Uttarakhand. These projects are aimed at boosting infrastructure, education, health, tourism, and energy sectors in the state, with significant progress already achieved on several fronts.

Progress of Development Projects

CM Dhami stated that out of the 42 major projects, 10 projects worth ₹11,967 crore have been completed, while the remaining 32 projects with an investment of ₹3,37,597 crore are currently under progress.

He highlighted that the Pragati Portal is being used for continuous monitoring of these projects. Through the portal, 97% of issues, including land acquisition and administrative hurdles, have been resolved, ensuring timely completion of projects even in geographically sensitive and challenging areas.

Focus on Key Sectors

The ongoing projects cover multiple sectors essential for the state’s development, including:

  • Roads and Highways: 19 projects under progress, 4 completed, including the Chardham road project
  • Energy and Power: 3 projects under execution
  • Oil and Gas: 3 projects underway
  • Railways: 2 projects including Rishikesh-Karnaprayag railway line
  • IT, Education, Health, and Waste/Water Management: Various ongoing projects
  • Expressways: Delhi-Dehradun Expressway project

CM Dhami noted that the state has received 23 central projects in road and highway development alone, reflecting the emphasis on improving connectivity across the region.

Effective Monitoring through Pragati Portal

The Pragati Portal has enabled real-time monitoring of projects, allowing the state and central governments to coordinate efficiently and resolve bottlenecks quickly. Currently, 12 out of 32 ongoing projects (worth ₹1,13,790 crore) are being closely tracked through the portal.

The completed projects include initiatives in roads, oil and gas, power generation, aviation, and education. CM Dhami emphasized that such monitoring ensures accountability and timely delivery of development projects.

Central Government’s Role in Uttarakhand Development

CM Dhami praised the double-engine government model, attributing the accelerated development pace in Uttarakhand to central government support. He stated that these projects open new avenues for state development and significantly contribute to the economic growth, infrastructure expansion, and connectivity of Uttarakhand.

Major Projects Driving Growth

Some flagship projects include:

  • Chardham Road Project – Improving pilgrimage connectivity
  • Rishikesh-Karnaprayag Railway Line – Boosting regional transportation
  • Delhi-Dehradun Expressway – Enhancing road connectivity and trade

These initiatives are expected to transform Uttarakhand’s landscape and improve the quality of life for residents while boosting tourism and industrial development.
