Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved ₹5.39 crore for the construction of an Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower at the Doon Helidrome in Tarla Nagal, Dehradun district. The decision aims to strengthen aviation infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency at the helidrome.
The approvals were granted on Thursday, according to the Chief Minister’s Office.
₹5.39 Crore ATC Tower at Doon Helidrome
The construction of an ATC tower at the Doon Helidrome will improve air traffic monitoring and safety standards, especially during emergency operations and VIP movements. The project is expected to enhance aviation management capabilities in Dehradun and support disaster response operations when required.
₹10.66 Crore Allocated for Disaster Management Communication Upgrade
In preparation for the 2025–26 financial year, the Chief Minister approved ₹10.66 crore for the Disaster Management Department. The funds will be used to upgrade communication systems across the state to ensure faster coordination and improved response during natural disasters.
Given Uttarakhand’s vulnerability to floods, landslides, and extreme weather events, the move is seen as a significant step toward strengthening disaster preparedness.
₹2.35 Crore for ‘Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar’ Campaign
The Chief Minister also sanctioned ₹2.35 crore from the State Contingency Fund to various districts. The funds will facilitate arrangements for implementing the government’s “Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar” campaign, which focuses on delivering government services directly to citizens at their doorsteps.
High-Tech Public Toilets Approved in Kashipur
To improve urban sanitation infrastructure, approvals have been granted for the construction of high-tech toilet facilities under the Kashipur Municipal Corporation area:
- Tanda Tiraha: Seven-seater facility costing ₹63.32 lakh
- Chaiti Tiraha: Nine-seater facility costing ₹69.82 lakh
- Chaiti Mela Ground: Nine-seater facility costing ₹76.87 lakh
The initiative aims to enhance hygiene standards and public convenience in high-footfall areas.
Civic Infrastructure Projects in Tehri and Almora
Further approvals include:
- ₹1.58 crore for the construction of a Nagar Panchayat office in Tapovan, Tehri Garhwal.
- ₹11.31 lakh (first phase) for a multi-storey parking facility near Deval Bazaar (Taxi Stand) in Deval Block under the Tharali Assembly constituency.
These projects are expected to improve administrative efficiency and ease traffic congestion in busy market areas.

In a tribute to the armed forces, the Kunigad-Hiruli Bazaar to Rampur-Chaukhutiya motor road in Chaukhutiya Block of Dwarahat Assembly constituency, Almora district, has been named after martyr Subedar Bhawanidatt Joshi.
