Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved development projects worth over ₹210 crore across the state, aimed at strengthening infrastructure, disaster management, and the swift implementation of Chief Minister announcements. These approvals are expected to enhance the state’s resilience, improve connectivity, and support community welfare initiatives.
Focus on Disaster Management and Public Safety
To bolster disaster relief and rescue operations, the CM sanctioned the purchase of 71 Bolero vehicles at a cost of ₹7.24 crore. These vehicles will be deployed for emergency response, ensuring rapid assistance during natural calamities and enhancing the efficiency of disaster management in the state.
Major Infrastructure Projects: Pantnagar Airport Expansion
The Chief Minister has also given approval for the expansion of Pantnagar Airport with an allocation of ₹188.55 crore. This project is expected to boost regional connectivity, facilitate better air travel, and support economic development in Uttarakhand. Additionally, over ₹14 crore has been sanctioned to expedite the implementation of various CM announcements across the state.
District-Level Development Initiatives
Several district-specific projects have also received financial approval:
- In Pithoragarh district, the road from Harkot to Thamdi Kund in the Dharchula Assembly area will receive ₹88.76 lakh, the Jalath to Faguni Udyar connectivity road ₹84.12 lakh, and the Nainipatal to Bhagwati Mandir road in Didihaat ₹45.74 lakh.
- In Champawat district, NABARD funds will support horticulture development with an allocation of ₹98.18 lakh.
- In Purnagiri Tehsil, the construction of a mini development building and bar building has been approved for ₹5.33 crore.
- In Dehradun’s Chakrata Assembly area, public tin shed construction in Gram Panchayats Kandi, Chama, and Gata will receive ₹55.95 lakh.
- In Udham Singh Nagar’s Khatima area, installation of 300 hand pumps has been approved for ₹4.99 crore.
- In Narsan development block, the construction of a CC spur along the left bank of the Solani River in Gram Mukimpur has been sanctioned for ₹24.37 lakh.
