Dehradun: In a major push to accelerate infrastructure and public welfare initiatives, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial allocations worth ₹53.56 crore for multiple development projects across the state. The funding focuses on urban infrastructure, road development, electricity supply, disaster relief, and technological advancement.
Boost to Urban Infrastructure and Mobility
A significant portion of the budget—₹33.45 crore—has been sanctioned under the state plan for six projects under the City Mobility Plan in Dehradun. These initiatives aim to:
- Improve traffic management
- Strengthen urban infrastructure
- Enhance overall commuting experience
This move is expected to ease congestion and support the city’s growing population and urban expansion.
Digital Forensic Lab to Strengthen Crime Investigation
To modernize investigation capabilities, the state government has approved ₹11.27 crore for setting up a Digital Forensic Lab through the National Forensic Sciences University.
- The project is planned for a five-year period
- It will enhance the state’s ability to investigate financial and cyber crimes
- It aims to bring advanced forensic support to law enforcement agencies
Relief Package for Disaster-Affected Families
Keeping disaster management a priority, the government has sanctioned ₹2 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for families affected by natural disasters in Chamoli district during the 2025–26 monsoon.
The relief includes:
- Assistance for 85 fully damaged houses
- Financial aid to families of 17 deceased victims
This step reflects the government’s commitment to timely rehabilitation and support.
Focus on Rural Development and Electricity Supply
Several rural infrastructure projects have also received funding:
- ₹5 crore for electricity supply to 74 unconnected hamlets in Champawat
- ₹60.20 lakh for CC road construction from Hauli Piplati to Jyosuda
- ₹46.01 lakh for installation of 200 electricity poles in Someshwar (Almora)
These initiatives aim to improve connectivity and quality of life in remote areas.
Social and Cultural Development Projects
The government has also supported socio-cultural initiatives:
- ₹37.12 lakh for installation of a statue of B. R. Ambedkar in Saliyer village, Haridwar
- ₹41.07 lakh for construction of a memorial gate in Salt (Almora) in honor of former विधायक Surendra Singh Jeena
Legal Action in Money Laundering Case
In a separate development, CM Dhami has approved prosecution against retired forest officer Kishan Chand in a money laundering case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. The action follows proceedings initiated by the Enforcement Directorate.
