Dehradun: In a significant push towards infrastructure development and preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela 2027, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a series of major financial allocations, including ₹50.27 crore for the construction of a proposed Command and Control Center-2 building.
Major Boost for Kumbh Mela 2027 Preparations
The government has sanctioned ₹50.27 crore for the construction of the Command and Control Center-2 in Haridwar, a key hub for managing the massive influx of pilgrims during Kumbh Mela.
- First installment released: ₹20.11 crore
- The center will play a crucial role in crowd management, surveillance, and emergency response systems during the religious event.
This move reflects the state’s commitment to ensuring a safe, well-managed, and technologically equipped Kumbh Mela in 2027.
Development Projects Across Districts
Apart from Kumbh-related infrastructure, CM Dhami has approved several development projects across Uttarakhand:
Community Infrastructure in Udham Singh Nagar
- ₹5 crore approved for a community hall in Kichha
- ₹50 lakh released as the first installment
Religious and Cultural Development in Pithoragarh
Multiple projects have been sanctioned to promote tourism and preserve cultural heritage:
- ₹98.64 lakh for beautification and fair ground development at:
- Chulkot Hardaul Temple
- Mahakali Temple, Manitutundi
- Devi Temple, Madkot
- Ramlila Stage, Mavani
- ₹59 lakh released in the first phase
Additionally:
- ₹1 crore approved for internal CC road construction in villages Dakhim, Kweety, and Samkot
- ₹79.64 lakh approved for road development from Kweerijimia to Saipola and Bui Pato
- First installments of ₹59 lakh and ₹47.86 lakh released respectively
Flood Protection and Disaster Mitigation Works
Under disaster mitigation efforts, the government has approved ₹4.64 crore for flood protection works in Champawat district:
- Construction of embankments along the Sharda River from Boom to Tanakpur
- Protection of approximately 28 hectares of land, including Chilliaghol area
These projects aim to reduce flood risks and protect local communities.
Urban Development and Infrastructure Expansion
Several urban infrastructure projects have also received financial approval:
- ₹15.74 crore for reconstruction of the Municipal Corporation office in Rudrapur
- ₹5 crore (first installment) for Urban Development Directorate office building on Danda Lakhond-Sahastradhara Road in Dehradun
- ₹11.11 crore for three projects under Uttarakhand Drinking Water Resources Development and Construction Corporation in Vikasnagar

The approvals highlight the government’s focus on:
- Strengthening religious tourism infrastructure

- Improving urban facilities
