Chhattisgarh’s Growing Global Presence
During his address, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and reflected on the strong presence of the Indian diaspora, including many Chhattisgarhi entrepreneurs, in both Japan and South Korea. The Chief Minister emphasized that the visit had not only helped in strengthening bilateral ties but also opened up new avenues for trade and development, particularly in sectors like AI, semiconductors, textiles, and food processing.
“It was heartwarming to meet the Indian community in both Japan and South Korea. Our entrepreneurs and traders are doing wonders globally, and their contributions are bringing glory to India,” said the Chief Minister.

Investment Prospects for Chhattisgarh
Vishnu Deo Sai outlined that the Japan-South Korea tour had proven successful in securing substantial foreign investments and fostering industrial development for Chhattisgarh. He referred to discussions held during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Japan, where Japan pledged an investment of ₹6 lakh crore in India over the next decade, with a significant portion expected to benefit Chhattisgarh.
The investments are set to flow into emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and defense, which will offer considerable employment opportunities for the youth of the state.
Key Agreements and MoUs
The Chief Minister shared that large-scale investments are expected in key sectors during his interactions in Japan and South Korea. He discussed new investment proposals, especially in AI, semiconductors, textiles, and food processing. These proposals are expected to generate significant job opportunities in Chhattisgarh.
Moreover, trade representatives from both countries were briefed about the state’s new industrial policy, along with its incentives and strong infrastructure for AI and semiconductor investments. Chhattisgarh’s first Data Centre Park, located within the state, was also highlighted as a prime location for such investments.
Chhattisgarh’s Presence at Osaka World Expo
A major highlight of the Chief Minister’s visit was Chhattisgarh’s participation at the Osaka World Expo 2025. The state set up its pavilion at the Expo, attracting over 30,000 visitors daily. The pavilion showcased Chhattisgarh’s industrial landscape, investment opportunities, and cultural heritage. The state’s presentations were uniquely made in the Japanese language, demonstrating a high level of cultural and business engagement.
“This was a historic moment as Chhattisgarh was the only state to present its information in Japanese at the Expo,” said CM Sai, noting that this was crucial in fostering meaningful connections with Japanese investors.

First-Ever Chhattisgarh Delegation to South Korea
For the first time ever, a delegation from Chhattisgarh visited South Korea, a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to diversify its international business relationships. Information about the state was shared in Korean, helping to strengthen ties with South Korean investors.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ICCK). Under this MoU, ICCK will serve as Chhattisgarh’s knowledge partner, assisting in the skilling of the workforce to meet the needs of the industries coming under the state’s new industrial policy.
A Global Outlook for Chhattisgarh
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai concluded his address by stating that the visit to Japan and South Korea marked a pivotal moment in Chhattisgarh’s growth. He said, “We are not confined to India’s major investment hubs anymore. Chhattisgarh is now reaching out to the global stage. We will bring investments, secure international markets for our products, and create job opportunities for our youth.”
He further emphasized that the state’s robust infrastructure, new policies, and global outlook would ensure that Chhattisgarh remains a key player in India’s industrial growth and foreign investment landscape.
