Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has announced the re-appointment of Vivekananda Biswal as an Independent Director on its Board, effective May 5, 2025, following a directive from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG).
According to HPCL’s regulatory filing, Biswal will serve a one-year term from the date of appointment or until further orders, whichever comes earlier. This marks his second tenure on the Board; he was first appointed as an Independent Director in November 2021.
Biswal, a resident of Odisha, holds a postgraduate degree in Commerce and is a member of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India. He completed his education at Utkal University and currently serves as a board member in several other companies. HPCL has confirmed that Biswal is not related to any existing Directors on the Board and is not disqualified by any regulatory authority from holding office.
