New Delhi: In a major step to accelerate women-led economic growth, NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) and DP World have launched ‘We Rise – Women Entrepreneurs Reimagining Inclusive and Sustainable Enterprises’, a new initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs to expand their businesses globally through trade facilitation, mentorship, and strategic collaborations.
Strategic Partnership to Boost Women-Led Enterprises
The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Statement of Intent (SoI) by Ms. Anna Roy, Mission Director, WEP, in the presence ofMr. B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, CEO, NITI Aayog.
Under the Award to Reward (ATR) initiative of WEP, the programme will identify high-growth potential women-led MSMEs across India and support them with export readiness training and global exposure. DP World will leverage its extensive logistics network and international trade expertise to help 100 women entrepreneurs meet global trade requirements and strengthen their operational capabilities.
Access to Global Markets Through Bharat Mart in Dubai
As part of the initiative, selected women entrepreneurs will also be given a platform to showcase their products at Bharat Mart in Dubai, a global B2B and B2C marketplace within the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza). This will enable them to access international buyers and scale their businesses globally.
This initiative reflects DP World’s commitment to inclusive trade and aligns with India’s vision of empowering women to play a central role in economic growth.
Public-Private Collaboration for Women-Led Development
“With this partnership, we aim to create an enabling environment where women entrepreneurs can grow, scale, and access global markets,” saidMr. B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, CEO, NITI Aayog. “By uniting efforts with DP World, we are strengthening the foundation for long-term impact.”
Ms. Anna Roy, Mission Director, WEP, emphasized the importance of curated interventions and collaboration between public and private sector organizations to promote women exporters and support women-led development.
About Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP)
Launched in 2018 and transitioned into a public-private partnership in 2022, WEP serves as a national aggregator platform to strengthen India’s women entrepreneurship ecosystem. With over 90,000 women entrepreneurs already on board and more than 47 partners from public and private sectors, WEP addresses six key ecosystem needs—access to finance, market linkages, training and skilling, mentoring and networking, compliance and legal support, and business development services.
Its Award to Reward (ATR) initiative, launched in 2023, provides a plug-and-play model to foster scalable collaborations and measurable impact, celebrating the success stories of women entrepreneurs while addressing their specific needs.
