Patna: The Central Government has nominated Shirsat Kapil Ashok, Secretary of the Department of Dairy, Fisheries, and Animal Resources, Government of Bihar, as a Director on the Board of Directors of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).
Mr Ashok, a 2011-batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, also serves as Co-Chairman of COMFED, the state cooperative federation of Bihar. His inclusion on the NDDB Board is expected to strengthen the coordination between state and national dairy development initiatives, enhance policy compliance, and ensure effective implementation of schemes.
Enhancing Policy Compliance and Coordination
Shirsat Kapil Ashok’s representation on the NDDB Board aims to:
- Foster better coordination between NDDB, COMFED, and the Bihar Department of Dairy, Fisheries, and Animal Resources
- Strengthen alignment with schemes of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Government of India
- Enhance the income and standard of living of livestock farmers in Bihar through more effective policy implementation
Officials believe that his experience and administrative expertise will create new directions in dairy sector growth, both at the state and national levels.
