Early Career and Key Postings in Uttar Pradesh
Dipesh Juneja began his police career serving across multiple districts in Uttar Pradesh. He held the position of Superintendent of Police (SP) in Almora, Rampur, Amroha, Maharajganj, and Shahjahanpur. Later, he was appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in major cities including Gorakhpur, Saharanpur, Allahabad, Meerut, and Agra.
Juneja also held dual responsibilities as SSP/DIG in Agra, Bareilly, and Saharanpur, reflecting his ability to manage complex administrative and operational challenges. His tenure in UP was characterized by significant contributions to law enforcement, prosecution, and public safety.
Central Deputation and Indo-Tibetan Border Police Service
In 2010, Juneja went on central deputation to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), where he served as Deputy Inspector General (DIG). He was posted in key sectors including Shimla and the Chandigarh Frontier and later managed personnel affairs at ITBP Headquarters.
After being promoted to Inspector General (IG), he oversaw anti-Naxal operations across the Bhopal and Chhattisgarh frontiers, and managed a diverse portfolio at ITBP Headquarters. His tenure highlighted his strategic and operational leadership in national security matters.

Juneja’s contributions extended beyond India. He represented the country as Contingent Commander of the Indian Civilian Police during the UN Mission in Kosovo, leading a 300-member team.
