Bahraich: Panic gripped Bahraich district after a three-month-old girl was killed and a 60-year-old woman injured in suspected wolf attacks. Villagers fear a man-eating wolf, though officials are yet to confirm the predator’s identity.
Infant Snatched in Gorwah Village
In Gorwah village, an unidentified wild animal attacked the home of Dinesh Tiwari. His infant daughter was taken from the verandah. Later, the child’s decapitated head was found in a nearby field.
Kaiserganj Range Officer Omkar Nath Yadav confirmed the sequence of events. He said villagers claimed to have sighted a wolf in the area.
Coordinated Hunt with Drones and Traps
Forest officials launched an immediate operation to track the animal. Drones equipped with thermal cameras are scanning dense vegetation and fields.
Authorities also placed cage traps at key locations. They have urged residents to remain indoors and secure their homes until the threat is contained.
