Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹2,251 crore in Gorakhpur, marking a major boost for the region’s infrastructure, industry, and employment opportunities.
Key Projects and Investments
Among the major announcements, CM Yogi inaugurated a plastic park project worth ₹120 crore, aimed at generating industrial growth and providing jobs for local youth in Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Kushinagar, and surrounding districts. A housing scheme on 110 acres, worth ₹400 crore, was also launched, along with industrial and residential land allocations under GIDA.
Additionally, investments like Coca-Cola’s ₹700 crore plant were highlighted, expected to provide 1,500 direct jobs. The CM noted that over 15,000 youth will benefit from employment opportunities through these projects.

Boost to Employment and Skill Development
The Chief Minister announced the setting up of skill development institutions and branches of Delhi Public School in the region, aiming to provide quality education and training. He emphasized that the state government is committed to ensuring that youth in Eastern UP no longer need to migrate for jobs, as industries and skill centers are being built locally.
He further assured that 60,000+ youth have already secured jobs in the private sector, while new police recruitments are strengthening law and order, making the state more attractive for investors.
CM Yogi on Law, Order and Investment Climate
Speaking at the event, Yogi Adityanath said:
“Before 2017, investment in UP was just a distant dream. Today, Gorakhpur and every district of the state are receiving proposals. Security, transparency, and employment are bringing prosperity, unlike the earlier days when riots and lawlessness scared investors away.”
He stressed that a safe environment ensures investment, which in turn generates employment and prosperity.

Environmental and Industrial Push
The CM also highlighted eco-friendly industrial development, ensuring that projects like plastic parks and industrial clusters will not pollute air or water. He noted that new CETP (Common Effluent Treatment Plants) will be set up to maintain clean surroundings.
Government’s Commitment
Yogi reiterated the state government’s dedication to double-engine growth, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India. “We are not only providing jobs but also empowering youth to become job creators,” he said.
