CM Yogi Adityanath Launches 432 Projects Worth ₹548 Crore in Sonbhadra, Boosting Tribal Development and Infrastructure

Sonbhadra: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Sonbhadra district on Saturday, marking a significant day for local development and tribal pride. The CM participated as the chief guest at the Tribal Pride Day celebrations held at the Chopan Railway Ground, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of tribal hero Birsa Munda. During the event, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 432 projects worth a total of ₹548 crore, aimed at enhancing infrastructure, education, and community welfare in the district.

Tribal Pride Day Celebrations Highlight Culture and Heritage

The program showcased the rich tribal culture of Sonbhadra, with performances by artists from Arunachal Pradesh and Sonbhadra, including the traditional Karma dance, captivating the audience. The stage was adorned to reflect tribal traditions, heritage, and pride, creating a vibrant cultural ambiance throughout the event.

Honouring Tribal Freedom Fighters’ Families

In a special segment, CM Yogi Adityanath honored the families of tribal freedom fighters, emphasizing the government’s commitment to preserving the rich history and culture of tribal communities. The district’s development and tourism booklet was also released, providing insights into ongoing and upcoming initiatives for the region.

Key Projects Inaugurated: Infrastructure and Connectivity Boost

Among the major projects inaugurated, the 79.86 crore bridge over the Son River at Kolia Ghat stood out as a significant development. Other notable projects include:

  • Widening of Balui–Meetapur Road (₹25.89 crore)
  • Strengthening of Urmaura–Rajpur Road (₹13.68 crore)
  • Construction of barracks and hostels at PAC and Police Lines

Foundation Stones Laid for New Development Initiatives

CM Yogi also laid foundation stones for several new initiatives, including:

  • District Rural Development Institute building (₹30.78 crore)
  • Integrated Special Secondary School (₹24.59 crore)
  • Widening of Ghorawal–Kohratha–Shivdwar Road (₹12.51 crore)
  • Residential buildings for the newly created Obra Tehsil
  • New police station residential quarters at Jugail
  • Welfare Mandapam in the Nagar Palika Parishad

These projects are expected to accelerate Sonbhadra’s infrastructure development, strengthen educational facilities, and enhance the overall quality of life for local residents, particularly the tribal population.
