Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a strong warning against the sale of adulterated or fake fertilisers and any form of black marketing, stating that such offenders will not be spared. The Chief Minister made it clear that individuals involved in these illegal activities will face strict action under the National Security Act (NSA).
Daily Review of Fertiliser Availability Directed
Chairing a high-level meeting on Tuesday in the presence of the Agriculture Minister and the Cooperation Minister, the Chief Minister issued firm instructions to ensure adequate availability and smooth distribution of fertilisers across the state. He directed both ministers to conduct a daily review of fertiliser availability and distribution.
The Chief Minister said that if farmers face any difficulty in accessing fertilisers, accountability will be fixed and strict action will be taken against the guilty, irrespective of their position. The Chief Minister’s Office will maintain direct monitoring of every district, and any irregularity in fertiliser distribution will not be tolerated.
Surprise Inspections and Zero Tolerance on Overpricing
CM Yogi instructed District Magistrates, Additional District Magistrates, and Sub-Divisional Magistrates to conduct surprise inspections at fertiliser shops and cooperative societies. He stressed that overpricing will not be allowed under any circumstances and that fertiliser outlets must remain open as per prescribed schedules.
Urea, DAP, and potash must be sold strictly at government-approved rates. Wherever irregularities are found, immediate responsibility must be fixed. The Chief Minister also directed continuous monitoring of field-level officers, warning that any negligence or collusion will lead to open vigilance inquiries.
No Place for Creating Artificial Shortages
The Chief Minister categorically stated that there is no place in the state for those who attempt to create an artificial fertiliser shortage or exploit farmers for personal gain. Any attempt to disrupt fertiliser supply or mislead farmers will invite the strictest action.
