Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to expedite the remaining work on the Ganga Expressway and ensure that it is completed within the scheduled timeline so that the expressway can be made operational at the earliest.
The directive came during a high-level review meeting held in Lucknow, where the chief minister assessed the progress of ongoing and proposed infrastructure projects across Uttar Pradesh.
Ganga Expressway to Improve Connectivity
The Ganga Expressway is one of the state’s most ambitious road infrastructure projects. Once completed, it will significantly improve connectivity between Meerut and Prayagraj, making travel faster and more convenient.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that all pending works should be completed within the prescribed timeline while maintaining high construction quality standards. The expressway is expected to play a crucial role in boosting regional connectivity, trade, and economic activity.
Focus on Timely Completion and Quality Standards
During the review meeting, the chief minister made it clear that any unnecessary delays in project execution will not be tolerated. He directed officials to strictly monitor progress and ensure that construction quality is maintained.
The meeting also reviewed progress on several other key expressway projects, including:
- Chitrakoot Link Expressway
- Farrukhabad Link Expressway
- Agra–Lucknow Expressway
In addition, officials discussed the development of logistics and transport hubs connected to these expressways.
Review of Jewar International Airport Project
The chief minister also reviewed the progress of the Noida International Airport, located in Greater Noida.
Officials informed the meeting that the airport has recently received a provisional aerodrome license, marking a major milestone in the project’s development. The government also assessed the progress of the multi-modal logistics hub and transport hub being developed in the region.
CM Yogi directed authorities to complete land acquisition and construction work within the designated timeline.
Acceleration of Expressway Link Projects
Progress on several expressway link projects was also reviewed during the meeting, including:
- Purvanchal Link Expressway
- Jhansi Link Expressway
- Jewar Link Expressway
The chief minister instructed district magistrates to speed up land acquisition processes and remove project-related hurdles quickly to ensure timely completion.
Push for Energy and Urban Development Projects
Apart from transport infrastructure, the chief minister also reviewed several energy and urban development initiatives. He directed officials to accelerate work on the proposed pump storage project in the Rihand–Obra region and the 100 MW solar power plant proposed in Jhansi.
Urban development projects such as the exhibition-cum-convention center in the Vrindavan Yojana area of Lucknow and the proposed Kukrail Night Safari project were also discussed.
Faster Land Acquisition for Infrastructure Projects
The chief minister stressed the importance of speeding up land acquisition for major infrastructure projects and directed officials to complete pending work by June.
He reiterated that all departments must work in coordination to remove obstacles quickly so that key expressway and development projects can be completed without delay.
CM Yogi concluded the meeting by stating that delays or compromises in construction quality will not be acceptable, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to fast-track infrastructure development in Uttar Pradesh.
