CM Yogi Sets Deadline-Driven Approach for UP Development Projects, Orders Fast-Track Execution & Accountability for Delays

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure that major development projects and public welfare schemes are completed within their stipulated timelines, warning that delays caused by pending land acquisition, tendering, departmental coordination or other issues must be addressed promptly.

The directions were issued during a meeting of the State Transformation Commission, where the Chief Minister reviewed several infrastructure and welfare initiatives across Uttar Pradesh.

Yogi said the government’s priority was not limited to announcing or approving projects, but also ensuring their timely implementation and delivery of intended benefits to the public.

Focus on Timely Completion of Projects

The Chief Minister directed officials to regularly review projects that are not progressing at the expected pace and fix responsibility wherever required.

Key directions included:

  • Resolve pending issues related to land acquisition, tendering and inter-departmental coordination without delay.
  • Regularly monitor projects whose progress is below expectations.
  • Fix accountability for delays and lapses in implementation.
  • Ensure projects are completed within their prescribed timelines.

Expressways to Support Connectivity and Economic Activity

Reviewing connectivity projects, Yogi said expressways should be developed not merely as transport infrastructure but also as corridors supporting industry, investment, employment and regional economic activity.

The meeting was informed that the tender for the Chitrakoot Link Expressway was published on August 6, with selection scheduled for September.

The status of land acquisition for other proposed link expressways was also reviewed:

  • Farrukhabad Link Expressway: 91.28% land acquired
  • Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal Link Expressway: 80.43%
  • Jhansi Link Expressway: 84.82%
  • Jewar Link Expressway: 79.27%

For the Meerut-Haridwar, Vindhya and Vindhya Purvanchal Spur Expressways, verification has been completed and the land acquisition process is to be taken forward.

The Chief Minister directed officials in the concerned districts to expedite land-related proceedings to avoid unnecessary delays.

Logistics and Business Infrastructure Reviewed

Reviewing the Greater Noida Multi-Modal Logistics Hub, Yogi directed officials to accelerate work on logistics projects.

He said such projects should contribute to strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s position in national and international supply chains.

Officials were also directed to speed up the Aqua Business Project in Unnao.

Fire Safety Compliance to Get Digital Monitoring

The Chief Minister also reviewed fire-safety arrangements at healthcare institutions, hospitals, hotels and guest houses.

He directed officials to ensure that there is no negligence in matters related to public safety and called for an effective digital database of Fire NOCs.

Officials were instructed to initiate the renewal process before the validity of a Fire NOC expires.

Power Loss and Electricity Theft Under Review

Reviewing the state’s electricity system, Yogi directed officials to identify the actual reasons behind high line losses in specific areas and take corrective action.

He also called for stronger measures relating to:

  • Electricity theft
  • Billing
  • Revenue collection
  • Monitoring of areas with high line losses

The Chief Minister also directed that all necessary work related to digital libraries be completed by September 30.

Zero Poverty Campaign and Labour Facilities

During the review of the Zero Poverty Campaign, Yogi said all identified families should be provided housing facilities.

He also directed officials to survey all labour addas and ensure the availability of basic facilities, including:

  • Drinking water
  • Toilets and sanitation
  • Bathing facilities
  • Medical assistance
  • Food

Gorakhpur Cricket Stadium Construction Reviewed

The meeting also reviewed the construction of the 30,000-capacity international cricket stadium in Gorakhpur.

Yogi directed that the project be completed within the stipulated timeline while maintaining construction quality.

According to the meeting, construction of the stadium is scheduled to be completed by December 2027.

Revenue Matters Also Discussed

During the review of the Revenue Department, the Chief Minister directed officials to examine the cancellation of heritage-related applications in Prayagraj.

The review covered several infrastructure, public-service and welfare initiatives, with emphasis on timely implementation, monitoring and accountability.
