IAS officer Deepak Rawat who is famous for his inspection videos and enjoys a huge following on social media was recently seen at an under-construction sports facility taking officials to task.
A video of Mr. Rawat inspecting the site was uploaded on a channel named after him and managed by his fans. The Commissioner of Kumaon could be seen checking a swimming pool followed by an under-construction hall.
After the contractor was not able to show the target and progression sheet, the officer scolded him and imposed penalty. He warned the workers about using electrical wires carelessly.
The officer was furious when he found out about the absence of engineers from the site.
It is not the first time that the 2007 batch officer was captured in action. He previously served as the District Magistrate in Bageshwar, Managing Director of Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam, Uttarakhand, among others.
As District Magistrate in Haridwar, he had taken the Kumbh Mela Adhikari to task.
