A grand ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh Amrit Kalash Yatra’ was organized under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme by ITBP’s 17th Corps Reckong Peo on Tuesday. On behalf of ITBP and District Administration Kinnaur, Amrit Kalash Yatra programme was organized in Gram Panchayat Pangi, Shudarang, Powari, Themgarang and Sangla of the district.
Soil was collected in urns from all the gram panchayats of district Kinnaur till September 30 by going door to door in honour of the martyrs. Now, till October 13, a programme will be organized in honour of the martyrs at the development block and municipal body headquarters level by filling the Amrit Kalash filled with soil and rice collected from the houses of the ward and gram panchayat. To celebrate the 75th year of Independence, Amrit Kalash will be transported to New Delhi and will be used in building Amrit Vatika in honour of martyrs in the line of duty.
