Shobha Devi’s name has become quite popular in Chitrakoot these days. The reason? Her unconditional dedication to her work.
This PRV woman pilot lost her husband in a tragic incident but that didn’t waiver her courage. To support herself and her kids, she applied for a job as a home guard in UP police in 2011.
Currently, she is driving around in the city in her PRV and protecting the women of Chitrakoot.
She is the only female driver of Dial 112 launched for women’s safety by the police. She is punctual and hardworking and reaches in 15 minutes after receiving a distress call.
The SP of Chitrakoot, IPS officer Vrinda Shukla salutes Shobha’s passion. In a tweet she said, “My salute to our Shobha. The dream is to have such a police force where many dignitaries feel empowered and self-reliant, become an example for social change and do not feel less than any of their male colleagues. I pray that I can contribute in the construction work of such a force.”
