Chhattisgarh is set to revolutionize urban governance with a comprehensive e-governance project aimed at making administration more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric. The State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) will provide fully online services across all 192 urban bodies, advancing the vision of “One State – One Platform” and “Digital Chhattisgarh.”
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao Highlights Citizen-Centric Benefits
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Sao emphasized that the initiative will mark a new era of Sumyasan, delivering urban services directly to citizens’ doorsteps in a timely and transparent manner. He noted that this project brings governance closer to the people, embodying the philosophy of “Governance at the Doorstep of the People.”
Integrated Digital Platform for All Urban Services
The e-governance project will feature a unified digital platform, encompassing a citizen service portal, mobile application, building permit system, financial management module, grievance redressal system, solid waste management system, human resource management, and a decision support dashboard. Powered by a cloud-based data center, the platform ensures secure, integrated, and real-time access to all city data.
Seamless Online Tax Payments and Financial Efficiency
The system will enable citizens to pay property tax, excise tax, trade tax, and solid waste fees online through banks, UPI, wallets, or net-banking. This convenience not only simplifies payments for citizens but is also expected to enhance revenue collection for the state.
Technology-Driven Governance for Transparency and Efficiency
Mr. Arun Sao noted that the project places citizens at the center, making urban administration more transparent, responsive, and efficient. Decision-making will now be data-driven, supported by technology, and geared toward faster service delivery.
Aligning with Digital India and Smart Governance Vision
The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s “Digital India” vision and Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai’s commitment to good governance. Citizens will experience public welfare services digitally at home, creating a new benchmark for transparency and efficiency in urban administration.
AI and Data Analytics to Enhance Urban Services
The e-governance project will incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics to track patterns in citizen complaints, predict potential issues, and evaluate official performance. This integration will support evidence-based policy decisions and elevate urban administration to the level of “smart governance.”
