Delhi: On International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted Delhi projects worth over ₹18,000 crore, including the inauguration of two new Delhi Metro corridors and the foundation laying of three additional corridors under Phase V(A). The announcement marks a significant step in enhancing connectivity, safety, and convenience for millions of Delhi residents, especially women.

Two New Delhi Metro Corridors Opened
The newly inaugurated metro corridors include:
- Majlis Park to Maujpur-Babarpur – approximately 12 km
- Majlis Park to Dipali Chowk – approximately 9 km
These corridors will make travel easier for commuters and provide first-time metro connectivity to several Trans-Yamuna areas, including Wazirabad, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar, and Karawal Nagar.

Three Additional Corridors Laid in Phase V(A)
In addition to the inauguration, PM Modi also laid the foundation for three new metro corridors under Phase V(A), signaling continued expansion of the Delhi Metro network. These projects aim to further strengthen public transport connectivity across the capital.
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Key Development
Alongside the metro projects, the trial operation of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway was highlighted as an important development for the city, improving regional connectivity and reducing travel times for commuters.
CM Rekha Gupta Hails PM’s Initiatives
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed gratitude to PM Modi, saying these initiatives will benefit millions of Delhi residents with better connectivity, security, and a more convenient travel experience. She highlighted that the Delhi government, inspired by PM Modi’s mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”, is actively working in areas such as:
- Public transportation
- Welfare schemes
- Digital governance
- Education
- Women empowerment
- Urban infrastructure

Delhi Government’s Key Priorities
CM Gupta also shared achievements and ongoing projects by the Delhi government:
- Implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme
- Cleaning and rejuvenation of the Yamuna River
- Addressing landfill and waste management issues
- Launch of 70 Atal Canteens, providing affordable meals to 70,000 people daily
- New drainage master plan to tackle flooding and pollution, first in 50 years
- Laadli Scheme: Disbursement of nearly ₹200 crore to 70,000 girls, clearing pending payments
