Lucknow: The 78th Foundation Day of the Uttar Pradesh Police’s Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) was marked by spectacular displays of bravery, discipline, and physical excellence at the PAC Ground in Lucknow on Monday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath witnessed breathtaking demonstrations by PAC personnel, applauding their courage and professionalism.
Jawans performed daring feats, including emerging unscathed through rings of fire, forming a Mallakhamb pyramid within seconds, and executing complex yoga postures with precision. The high-energy performances drew loud applause and reflected the PAC’s rigorous training and operational readiness.
PAC’s Role in Law and Order and Disaster Response
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the PAC’s critical role in maintaining law and order across the state. He said that whether during elections, festivals, riots, violent incidents, or terror-related situations, the PAC has consistently stood as a reliable support to the police administration.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the PAC’s contribution to VIP security, crowd management, and maintaining peace in sensitive areas. He emphasized that PAC personnel play a frontline role in disaster relief and rescue operations, especially during floods and other natural calamities.

On the occasion, CM Yogi honoured outstanding PAC battalions, flood relief teams, sportspersons, police modern schools, and meritorious students for their exceptional contributions and achievements.

- Very Good Battalion: 39th Battalion PAC, Mirzapur (Commandant: Nepal Singh)
- Excellent Battalion: 47th Battalion PAC, Ghaziabad (Commandant: Charu Nigam)
- Best Platoon Drill: 36th Battalion PAC
- Excellent Demonstration: 36th Battalion PAC, Varanasi
- Best Demonstration Trophy: 41st Battalion PAC, Ghaziabad
- Best Flood Relief Team: 36th Battalion PAC, Varanasi
Individual and Team Honors:
- Outstanding Service: Sudhir Kumar Singh, Team Leader (34th Battalion PAC, Varanasi)
- Joint Best Performance: Head Constable Jitendra Singh Rana, Constable Aqeel Ansari, and Constable Krishna Kumar (23rd Battalion PAC, Moradabad)
- Best Sportsperson: Head Constable Kishan Kumar Mishra (25th Battalion PAC, Raebareli), who won three gold medals in All India Weightlifting Championships
