Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has approved the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for seven new townships across the city. Spanning 385 acres, these projects, proposed by private developers, are set to attract investments worth 10,000 crore. The new townships are expected to strengthen the city’s planned development and generate significant employment opportunities.
Under the Uttar Pradesh Township Policy-2023, licenses were issued to private developers for townships in Mohanlalganj and Sarojininagar tehsils. Companies including Messrs. Durga Greens Infratech, Messrs. Baba Infra Developers, Messrs. Avichal Infra Build, Messrs. Smap Builders & Developers, Messrs. Omaxe Limited, and Messrs. Neelendra’s Constructions own over 60 percent of the land in these areas. Their land use plans have been reviewed and approved according to prescribed standards.
Lucknow Metro Declared Special Amenity Project
The Lucknow Metro has been notified as a Special Amenity Project (SAP) by the LDA. This initiative, requested by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, allows the imposition of a special amenity fee on building plans along the Metro route. Funds generated through this fee will support the Metro’s implementation, long-term sustainability, and overall urban mobility improvements in the city.
Discounts for Gallantry Awardees’ Dependents
In a socially significant move, the LDA will provide special discounts on flat purchases for soldiers and their dependents who have received gallantry awards. Following the Chief Minister’s directions, the Board approved the proposal:
- Paramvir Chakra and Ashok Chakra recipients: 7.5 percent discount
- Mahavir Chakra and Kirti Chakra recipients: 5 percent discount
- Veer Chakra and Shaurya Chakra recipients: 2.5 percent discount
Discounts apply to single-property purchases, with additional 3–6 percent reductions for full payment within 45 to 90 days.
Flat Prices Frozen Until December 2026
The LDA will maintain current flat prices across its apartment projects until December 2026. Secretary Mr. Vivek Srivastava stated that vacant flats in locations such as Kanpur Road, Sharda Nagar, Sitapur Road, Devpur Para, and Aishbagh Heights are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Other Key Decisions and Approvals
- LDA will file a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court regarding the 311 acres of land between Nehru Enclave and the Army.
- Approval granted for land acquisition to extend the Green Corridor Scheme to Naimisharanya with a 24-meter road.
- Age of retired employees in the enforcement team increased from 60 to 65, with the addition of 15 security personnel.
These initiatives reflect the LDA’s commitment to planned urban growth, social welfare, and infrastructure enhancement in Lucknow.
