Strengthening Respect for Bharat Mata and Matrubhoomi
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Adityanath emphasized that the initiative is aimed at fostering a sense of respect and patriotism among students. “We should make Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel a part of our discussions. By mandating the recital of ‘Vande Mataram’, every citizen in UP will imbibe respect for Bharat Mata and Matrubhoomi,” he said.
Countering Threats to National Unity
The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of identifying and addressing factors that could weaken national unity and integrity. “Expressing gratitude to the national song, Vande Mataram, this song should be recited and sung publicly in every school and college. We must identify elements that challenge national integrity and counter them effectively so that no Jinnahs are born in the future,” Mr. Adityanath added.
Programs Celebrating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
Mr. Adityanath also spoke about the various programs organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the UP government on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary. “On October 30, a national unity run was organized in every district across India as part of ‘Run for Unity’. Several government-level initiatives, as well as public awareness programs focusing on ‘Swadeshi’ and self-reliance, have been launched nationwide,” he said.
Janta Darshan at Gorakhnath Temple
In addition to the announcement, Mr. Adityanath conducted a ‘Janta Darshan’ at the Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur, where he reviewed public grievances, examined written applications, and assured resolution and support to the citizens present.
The move to make ‘Vande Mataram’ mandatory reflects the UP government’s focus on fostering patriotism and reinforcing national unity among the younger generation, aligning with broader developmental and cultural objectives of the state.
