Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced the formation of a high-level commission dedicated to the promotion and development of the Sanskrit language in Uttarakhand. The declaration was made during the closing ceremony of the two-day International Sanskrit Conference held at the Sanskrit Academy and organized by Uttarakhand Sanskrit University.
Mr. Dhami emphasized that Sanskrit forms the foundation of human civilization, noting that countless global languages draw their roots from it. He reiterated that the preservation of Vedas, Puranas and Upanishads is possible only because of the timeless and eternal nature of the Sanskrit language.
Strengthening Sanatan Cultural Heritage
Reflecting on the Vedic era and India’s civilizational legacy, the Chief Minister highlighted Sanskrit’s central role in safeguarding Sanatan knowledge traditions. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making the upcoming Aakan 2021 event a grand and divine cultural celebration, ensuring that its benefits reach every citizen connected with the Sanatan ethos.
During his address, Mr. Dhami also criticized political parties opposing the SIR initiative, stating that some groups reject constructive steps merely due to an oppositional mindset, which ultimately hinders national progress.
Farmers Extend Honorary Title to the Chief Minister
In Haridwar, farmers welcomed Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami with great warmth at the helipad of Gurukul Kangri University. As an expression of gratitude for raising the sugarcane support price by Rs. 30 per quintal, the farmers honored him with the title of “Farmer’s Son.”

The Chief Minister expressed deep gratitude for the gesture and assured the farmers that the state government would promptly address any shortcomings in ongoing projects, especially those related to agriculture and rural development. He reiterated that farmer-centric decisions will continue to guide Uttarakhand’s growth roadmap.
