Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to prepare a detailed action plan based on the suggestions provided by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi during the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Uttarakhand’s formation. The recommendations are considered foundational for the state’s development roadmap over the next 25 years.
Every Vibrant Village to Transform into Mini Tourist Hubs
Under the new plan, every Vibrant Village will be developed as a small tourist center promoting local culture, handicrafts, and cuisine. CM Dhami emphasized the integration of yoga centers, Ayurveda institutes, naturopathy clinics, and homestays to attract wellness tourism across all assembly constituencies.
Promoting Festivals and International Recognition
The state government will launch a “One District, One Festival” campaign to showcase Uttarakhand’s unique fairs and festivals to the world. These initiatives aim to position the state as a global cultural and spiritual destination.
Hill Districts to Become Horticultural and Economic Hubs
CM Dhami instructed the development of hill districts as centers for horticulture, focusing on blueberries, kiwi, and medicinal plants. The plan includes boosting local MSMEs engaged in organic food production, handicrafts, and food processing, creating new employment opportunities for residents.
Integrated Tourism and Global Market Strategy
An integrated tourism policy will focus on pilgrimage, eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and perennial tourism. The state aims to develop five to seven major wedding destinations and promote Uttarakhandi GI-tagged products under the “House of Himalayas” brand for national and international markets.
Towards ‘Developed India’ by 2047
CM Dhami highlighted that these initiatives align with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India’ by 2047. Departments are instructed to coordinate closely, preparing detailed timelines and actionable roadmaps to ensure on-ground implementation.
