Raipur, Chhattisgarh: The annual conference of Director General of Police (DGP) and Inspector General of Police (IGP) is scheduled to be held at the IIM Nava Raipur campus from November 28 to 30, 2025. The three-day event will witness the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, underscoring the high-level focus on India’s critical internal security matters.

Focus on LWE Elimination Deadline

The conference’s primary agenda revolves around formulating strategies for the complete elimination of Left Wing Extremism (LWE), with a special focus on Naxal violence. The discussions gain urgency as the Union Home Minister’s deadline of March 31, 2026, for eradicating Naxalism approaches.

With only five months remaining, Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah are expected to seek direct feedback from DGPs and heads of central security agencies. The primary goal is to refine operations and ensure maximum effectiveness of security measures in LWE-affected regions.

Chhattisgarh: Strategic Venue Choice

The selection of Raipur as the venue highlights the strategic importance of Chhattisgarh, a state still grappling with Naxal-affected areas. Authorities anticipate detailed discussions and planning to tackle persistent internal security challenges and to evaluate the ongoing counter-insurgency measures in the region.

Broader Internal Security Agenda

Beyond LWE, the conference will also focus on a wide array of internal security challenges. Key discussion topics include:

  • Modern Policing Methods: Exploring innovative and efficient policing techniques.
  • Technological Surveillance: Enhancing the use of advanced technology, including technical surveillance, for improved law enforcement.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Security: Evaluating challenges and opportunities posed by AI in maintaining national security.
  • Inter-State Intelligence Sharing: Strengthening coordination and intelligence exchange between state police forces for a unified national security approach.

The participation of DGPs and heads of central security agencies from across the country is expected to foster a comprehensive and integrated strategy to address India’s most pressing internal security issues.
