New Delhi: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has announced the extension of the central deputation tenure of Longjam Siddhartha Singh (IA&AS: 1994), who is currently serving as Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Defence. The extension has been approved until May 12, 2026, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.

Extension of Longjam Siddhartha Singh’s Tenure
Mr. Singh, an officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) 1994 batch, has been performing the role of Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Defence since August 2022. His empanelment as Additional Secretary was confirmed in May 2022, following a distinguished career in various capacities in the government.

Prior to his current role, Longjam Siddhartha Singh held the position of Joint Secretary in the Department of Sports, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, where he was instrumental in managing key administrative and financial responsibilities.

The extension of his tenure reflects the government’s confidence in his leadership and financial management expertise, especially critical in the defence sector.

Sanjeev Jain Appointed as Principal Executive Director – Accounts, Railway Board
In related administrative developments, Sanjeev Jain, IRAS (HAG), currently serving as Principal Financial Adviser – North Eastern Railway, has been appointed as the Principal Executive Director – Accounts at the Railway Board. This appointment follows the superannuation of Shri BK Singh, IRAS, marking a significant transition in the Railway Board’s financial leadership.

Mr. Jain’s extensive experience in railway financial administration positions him well to take on the challenges of this crucial role, overseeing financial management and accounting operations at one of India’s largest government bodies.
