The Delhi government plans to restart the Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana (JBMPVY), under which free coaching was given for IAS and other competitive exams, in the 2023-24 academic session.
Launched by the government in 2018, JBMPVY was aimed at providing free coaching to Delhi-based students from the SC, ST, OBC and EWS categories to prepare for entrance tests. Eligible students could avail coaching at 46 empanelled institutions. The scheme, however, was discontinued last year due to a dispute between the government and coaching centres over funding.
