1989 batch IPS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, Rajeev Ranjan, currently serving as the Secretary of the National Commission for Backward Classes, has been given the additional charge of Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Castes. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Monday, July 31, 2023, stating that the competent authority has approved the assignment of the additional charge to Mr. Ranjan upon the superannuation of Ms. Upma Srivastava (IAS:1988:SK) on 31.07.2023. Mr. Ranjan will hold the additional charge until the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders are issued, whichever comes earlier.
