Senior IPS officer Jitendra Singh Meena has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Mr. Meena, a 2007 batch IPS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre, has been appointed to the CBI for a period of five years.
Apart from him, four others have been appointed as Superintendents of Police (SPs) in CBI for five years. The names of the officers are: Vinayak Verma (Madhya Pradesh cadre), Achal Tyagi (Gujarat cadre) and Praveen Kumar (Gujarat cadre) have been appointed in CBI for five years. Indian Revenue Service officer Gaurav Mittal has been appointed SP for a period of four years.
