IAS officer Dr. Shubham Maurya has been appointed as as Officer on Special Duty (OSD ) in the office of the Chief Secretary, Govt of West Bengal. An IAS officer of 2021 batch and West Bengal cadre, Dr. Maurya was earlier selected in IRTS in 2019.  He has also served as Assistant Secretary in Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

Hailing from Bhadohi district, Uttar Pradesh Dr. Maurya started preparing for UPSC after completing his MBBS. Unlike most candidates who prefer to choose an Arts subject like Sociology or Political Science as the optional subject, Dr. Maurya opted for Medical Science and cleared the exam twice.
