Mr Kshirsagar, a 2011 batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service, is the eighth collector of Gariaband district. Prior to this, he had served as the Collector of Jashpur District and Chief Executive Officer of Raipur District Zila Panchayat. Ever since he took charge of the district, Mr Kshirsagar has focused on his goal to deliver the benefit of administrative schemes to each and every person of the district, the aim is to increase the representation of tribal youth from the district in the state administrative apparatus.
FREE CRASH COURSE
Gariaband has been blessed with numerous developmental projects under the leadership of Mr Kshirsagar. On his strong initiative of the IAS, the youth of the district who are aspiring to become administrative officers will now be able to fulfil their dreams with the District Administration-launched Ratnagarbha Academy for Competitive Exam -‘RACE’. A 60-day free crash course has been designed for the preparation of the preliminary examination of Chhattisgarh PSC. The Nodal agency of this RACE Academy is Zila Panchayat, Gariyaband and at present six expert faculty members are taking regular classes at the same.
This very idea got flared up in Mr Kshirsagar’s mind when saw people of Gariyaband and nearby places going to Raipur for studying at Coaching Classes. He then met a few young students who dropped the idea of preparing for Competitive examination and wanted to study but left their dream unachieved due to financial crisis.
FROM IDEA TO CONCRETE ACTION
The idea of Race Academy finally took shape on November 2020, with its first batch completing its course in February 2021.
Commenting on his initiative, Mr Kshirsagar said that there are many immensely talented young minds in the district and the administration will leave no stone unturned to ensure appropriate opportunities for them, as well as a platform to showcase their talents.
The free crash course is being organised in the premises of Government Veer Surendra Sai Post Graduate College.
Mr Kshirsagar further said thatgiven the pandemic, the course is being offered online for now, but the aim in long run is to increase the representation of tribal youth from the district in the state administration apparatus. If necessary, offline classes too will also be conducted, with strict compliance of all social distancing guidelines i.e proper use of masks and sanitisers.
According to the prescribed syllabus of CGPSC, history, mathematics, constitution, Panchayati Raj administrative system, geography, economics, reasoning, science, art culture and miscellaneous subjects have been included under the course. Each week, lessons will focus on a different topic and a mock test will also be conducted every Sunday.
