P K Sidharth RamKumar’s recent success in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2023 wasn’t just a victory for him; it was a delightful shock for his family. Having secured the 4th rank, Sidharth’s secret dedication left his parents speechless. “He kept it under wraps!” exclaimed his mother. Even his father, a teacher himself, couldn’t hide his disbelief and joy. “Such surprises are the sweetest,” he beamed.

This achievement marked the culmination of a five-year odyssey for Sidharth, one that began in 2019. His journey wasn’t without its hurdles. However, the call for civil service remained strong.  

Sidharth’s story transcends his impressive exam scores. Hailing from Kochi, Kerala, he graduated in architecture from the College of Architecture, Thiruvananthapuram, in 2019. Described by his brother as an extrovert with a passion for movies and cricket, Sidharth embodies a well-rounded personality. He actively pursues various interests, demonstrating a balance between academic rigor and a lively personal life.

This balance seems to be the secret sauce of his success. He juggled a demanding job with his studies, proving his commitment and time-management skills. This perseverance, coupled with an unwavering dream, propelled him to the top in his fifth attempt.

It showcases the need for dedication and a well-rounded life to maintain motivation over a long period of time.
