Assam govt shifted 17 IAS officers

In a major administrative reshuffle, CM Sarbananda Sonowal-led Assam government shifted 17 IAS officers and one ISS officer in the state.

In a major administrative reshuffle, CM Sarbananda Sonowal-led Assam government shifted 17 IAS officers and one ISS officer in the state.

The officer who have been reshuffled:

Maninder Singh, 1989-batch, was made ACS, Guwahati Development and Cooperation Department. He will also hold the additional charge of Chief Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi.

IAS officer V S Bhaskar, 1985-batch, was made Chairman, Assam Administrative Tribunal. 

Biswaranjan Samal, IAS 1992-batch, has been made Principal Secretary, Hill Areas Department. 

Syedain Abbasi, 1990-batch, has been given the charge of ACS, Public Health Engineering, Water Resource, IT, Science & Technology and Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs along with the additional charge of ACS, Mines & Minerals Department and Managing Director (MD), Assam Hydrocarbon & Energy Company Ltd.

Samir Kumar Sinha, 1994-batch, will assume the post of Principal Secretary, Finance and Health & Family Welfare Departments and Additional Principal Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi. 

Archana Verma, 1995-batch, has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Administrative Reforms & Training Department and Chairman, Board of Revenue.

Niraj Verma, 1994-batch, has been relieved of the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Administrative Reforms & Training Department.

Rajesh Prasad, 1995-batch, has been relieved of the additional charge of Commissioner, Lower Assam Division. 

Shantanu P Gotmare, 2004-batch, has been given the charge of Divisional Commissioner, Lower Assam Division.

Dr J B Ekka, 1995-batch, has been relieved of the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Transformation & Development Department. 

Siddharth Singh, 2005-batch, will assume the charge of Commissioner & Secretary, Public Health Engineering and IT Departments. 

Akash Deep, 2005-batch, has been posted as Commissioner & Secretary, Agriculture Department and Director, Agriculture. Also, he has been given the additional charge of State Project Director, ARIAS Societies.

KK Nath (ISS) has relieved of the additional charge of Commissioner & Secretary, IT Department and Director, IT, Electronics & Communications. Nath is the present Commissioner & Secretary, Transformation & Development and IT Department and Director, IT, Electronics & Communications. 

Manoj Kumar, 2008-batch, has been appointed as Secretary, Social Welfare and Public Enterprises Departments. 

Devajyoti Hazarika, 2009-batch, will assume the charge of Commissioner, Guwahati Municipal Corporation.

Ghanshyam Dass, 2012-batch, has been transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of the Government of Meghalaya for his posting in the state.

Anant Lal Gyani , 2011-batch, has been transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of the WPT & BC Department for posting him as Principal Secretary, Bodoland Territorial Council.

Adil Khan, 2011-Batch, has been made MD, Assam Industrial Development Corporation.
